SIDNEY & CHEYENNE
"In the two years that I have been with Rod, the changes that I have seen in my horse and in my own equitation take my breath away. Rod has actually "given" my horse back to me. Cheyenne had had my number, so to speak, and had often been in charge of the ride, tossing out behaviors to see who was really in charge. Rod has taught me confidence and control. His techniques are patient, gentle, and above all consistent. I have never ridden my horse as well as I am riding him now. The best gift that I have given my horse is having learned to be a more assertive, in-control rider. Many trainers "exercise" clients' horses. Rod "trains" them and their humans. Over and over, the results that I see are impressive. He is the quintessential pro with an eye for safety and detail." |
JANET & ANGEL
"Angel and I have been with Rod for several years. Rod took a fearful rider and an angry and undisciplined horse and helped us become a confident team that trusts each other. Angel is happy in his work, and I've progressed from being afraid to go faster than a jog to working cattle! Rod has taught me how to set up both myself and my horse for success." |
SUE & FOXXY
"Foxxy had to be orally medicated the first month of her life and she quickly learned to expect that anything in her mouth resulted in a nasty awful taste. This presented a special challenge for Foxxy in learning to bridle. Rod used gentle patience, persistence and his extraordinary timing to teach Foxxy to trust in accepting the bridle. Now, she bridles like a charm. Many trainers teach obedience because teaching trust takes too much time. Rod teaches the horse to trust and that facilitates and enhances obedience. Trust is what it's all about." |
KATHY & PEACHES
"I have been a client, friend and neighbor of Rod's for over 20 years. He has started all three of my youngsters. Rod starts them gentle, keeps them fresh, showing and going strong into their senior years. My 10 yr old Paint Mare Peaches and I had a successful 2007 Show season by winning a showmanship buckle. I was sidelined for the 2008 season but we hope start showing this year again in Showmanship and Trail."
